DINGS fully justified being favourites with a big win over .

On paper it was Dings game to lose but an early Darlington penalty silenced the crowd as Harry Read struck.

Within seconds Deago Bailey took from a Dings maul to cross but an interception saw Callum Mackenzie in under the sticks as Darlington retook the lead.

Matt Lane then intercepted from 60 metres out, homing in on the Darlington try line and shrugging off tackles to score, but Dings penalties kept Darlington in touch through the boot of Read.

The home side’s driving maul lacked its usual dominance, but Tomos Gwilliam added his name to the score sheet to close the half 22-13 ahead.

Louie Trevett opened the second-half scoring but Darlington answered with a superb try from Ben Douglas.

Dings ran phase after phase in the visitors red zone after Yaree Fantini saw yellow but, despite the onslaught, it was Darlington who come away with the wind in their sails.

The home side made changes and shortly after Harry Tarling was in for a simple score followed by Sol Taufa with a spirited run in, before Tommy Gollop crossed in the 80th minute.
