Plymouth…………….. 16
Rams……………………. 21
RAMS maintained their unbeaten record this season, but they were pushed all the way by a Plymouth side which had the consolation of a losing bonus point.
In the dying minutes, Plymouth launched a series of close-range drives but it took some heroic defence from Rams to keep them out.
The difference between the two sides was that Rams were more clinical finishing off the try-scoring chances created.
Things looked ominous for Plymouth early on as Rams dominated the set scrums.
Plymouth took the lead when fly-half Tom Putt’s excellent crosskick was caught by wing Craig Duncan who scored his seventh of the season.
Putt converted from wide out before Rams levelled matters when hooker Max Hayman finished off a catch and drive with fly-half Fraser Honey converting.
Plymouth finished the half strongly and Putt kicked two penalties to put his side ahead at the break.
Rams regained the lead after the interval when lock Dan Swain scored against his former club with Honey adding the extras.
Putt put Plymouth back in front with a penalty before a second Hayman try clinched it.
