SEDGLEY secured a much-needed victory over Plymouth.

The visitors started strongly with early tries from Jenson Boughton in the third minute and Craig Duncan in the eighth, both converted by Tom Putt.

Tigers responded fiercely with two almost identical solo tries from Rhys Henderson in the 10th and 30th minutes, bringing the scores almost level and Plymouth struggling to recover.

Ollie Glasse collected one conversion and one penalty to leave the score at 15-14 to Tigers at half-time.

After the break, the Tigers were unrelenting, fuelled by their home supporters, and Plymouth had little to say in response.

The scoring opened with a quick tap-and-go score from Tom Ailes in the 47th minute, followed by two blistering scores from star man Charlie Wardle in the 66th and 70th minutes that widened the gap and earned his team a bonus point, all converted by Glasse.

The game seemed long finished for Plymouth after Adam Mallinson crashed over for a Tigers try, but defiant they remained as Jack Oulton and Craig Duncan stole two last-minute tries, one converted by Putt, to end the contest.
