secured their first win of the season in a tough contest against who nearly stole victory at the end of the game.

The home side started brightly and were rewarded with an early converted try out wide for star man Jake Sterland.

The got on the scoreboard shortly after through an Oliver Glasse penalty, but Sterland grabbed his second to extend the ‘ lead.

The hosts had a number of good scoring chances but their lack of execution and ill-discipline in defence kept the visitors in the game.

Glasse converted another penalty before Ben Gregory scored two converted driving mauls tries to give Sedge a 2012 half-time lead.

Glasse added another penalty shortly after the break, but the Lions regained the lead with two close-range scores, firstly through Ethan Godefroy and then replacement hooker Arthur Allen.

Jack Edwards then crossed with only minutes remaining, but the missed conversion kept the visitors within one score.

With the last play of the game, Sedgley kicked to the corner, looking for a match-winning third maul try, but the Lions pack held them up to secure a much-needed victory.
