ON a lovely day for open expansive , which is usually the perfect recipe for a Mowden Park outfit, they soon found themselves 21-0 behind in as many minutes. The Rotherham forward pack living up to their name and dominating the set-piece.

Mowden responded with early changes which led to Ben Douglas breaking through the Rotherham line to touch down, which was converted by substitute Garry Law.

Mowden’s pressure was broken when the visitors were awarded a penalty within range which was converted by Richard Hayes, and closely followed it up with another converted try leaving the score at 7-31 at the break.

Mowden responded well, getting into their game as the second half got underway, and followed up with a anothr try from Douglas. Mowden continued their pressure on the Titans defence which was eventually broken by Oli Walker. Both tries were converted leaving the score at 21-31.

However, Rotherham’s set-play came back strongly when they made their way back into the Mowden half.

Mowden pressed late and got their reward through Ben Frankland to take a four-try bonus point from the game ending 28-45 to Titans.
