Bishop's Stortford shaded a hard-fought clash with Esher, with Harrison Langworthy the star turn.
The first half was a scrappy affair, but Stortford created a crucial break when Jake Morris stepped in off his wing and fed Chris Bolton for a try, converted by Dan Cole.
Esher fought back with Sam Morley kicking two penalties to narrow the deficit to a point.
As half-time beckoned, though, Alex Rayment touched down for the home side, well converted by Cole.
