RICHMOND’S director of rugby Steve Hill praised his team’s physicality and defence as they saw off Blackheath in club rugby’s oldest fixture.
It was at times a scrappy game, with both teams scoring just one try each, while Tom Hodgson kicked Richmond to victory with four penalties and a conversion.
Louis Molloy crashed over for the hosts on the hour mark, with Ben Ransom’s late try a consolation for Blackheath.
