ADAM Frampton’s second-half try sealed victory for Rosslyn Park in a bitterly-fought match against Cambridge.

The visitors lead though Albert Portsmouth but Park battled back to secure a fourth home win in a row and leap-frog Cambridge in the table.

Cambridge nearly lead eight minutes in as Jake McCloud found space, denied by Park’s defence.

Park continued to come forward, and Leonard’s half-way line penalty kick on the half-hour gave Park another opportunity but his effort hit the post’s padding.

It got worse for Park when Henry Spencer was sin-binned on 35 minutes for a high tackle and Cambridge took full advantage, Michael Ayrton feeding Portsmouth two minutes from half time.

But Park took points into the break as Leonard converted a penalty 10 metres out.

The hosts crept back into the game, and were rewarded on the hour when Frampton finished a maul.

Cambridge almost levelled on 73 minutes from a half-way penalty but substitute Jack Green kicked just left of the posts before Park’s Oliver Grove kicked missed himself two minutes later.

Cambridge came forward but Park defended valiantly for their victory.
