OLD Elthamians were handed a lesson in the harsh realities of life in National One by a welldrilled Esher side.
The Surrey club were far more streetwise, particularly at the breakdown and played the game in the right parts of the field, dominating possession and making fewer mistakes.
OEs were forced to live off scraps and what little ball they did win, they threw away with a succession of dropped passes and unforced errors.
