WINGER Nigel Baker ran in a hat-trick of tries inside the opening 30 minutes to help Ampthill towards a comfortable win over Blaydon.
A very well-organised Ampthill side had the upper hand for much of the game but were helped enormously by errors from the home team.
Baker was on the end of a cut-out pass for a simple run-in after eight minutes and then got the better of three defenders shortly after for his second of the afternoon.
Finally, he was gifted his third after smart interplay between Kevin Barrett and Joseph Bercis.
