Ionians beaten by surge from the Amps

AMPTHILL scored two converted tries in the second half at Dillingham Park to take all the points against Hull Ionians.
The Amps began well and in the ninth minute a trademark catch and drive was touched down by hooker Aleki Lutui.
Fly-half Joe Tarrant’s conversion slid past the posts from wide on the right.
More home pressure failed to produce scores as handling errors and infringements combined with uncompromising defence from Ionians left the scoreboard untroubled until the 20th minute.
