COVENTRY’S sensational try after 15 seconds laid the platform for a fine victory away to Blaydon.
The home defence failed to deal with the kick-off allowing Tom Jubb to send in Darrell Dyer for the simplest of tries.
Jubb followed up with a try on 29 minutes after a lightning raid in which Rob Knox exchanged passes with Heath Stevens to set up another easy score.
By the interval Brett Connon, the Blaydon flyhalf had landed a brace of penalties to reduce the deficit to 17-6.
