FYLDE claimed the spoils with their first away win of the season in a narrow triumph over Hull Ionians.
The miserable conditions belied the style of rugby adopted by both sides but had Ionians paid at least scant attention to the more prosaic aspects of the game then the home side should fashioned a victory. Deplorable defending gifted Fylde four of their five tries, winger Scott Armstrong the main beneficiary with a hat-trick.
