IN A GAME that could yet be crucial in the battle to avoid relegation Blaydon coped better with the atrocious conditions, a muddy pitch and incessant driving rain, to break out near the end and secure the valuable points.
They scored first on five minutes after marching the visitors back to the try line from their 22 where they pulled down the maul.
Hooker Neil Sweeney was yellow-carded and at the penalty Esher were again pushed back, allowing Blaydon No.8 Jason Smithson to touch down.
