Horrocks try seals victory for Islanders

Raiders made it two from two with a 25-17 win at home to Sutton & Epsom.

They led 17-7 at the interval, through tries from Tom Ceilan, Dan Hill and Luke Sayer converted by Sam Whitehead to a converted try by the visitors.

Sutton & Epsom came back strongly and levelled matters through a converted try and a drop goal, but a try from Doug Horrocks, converted by Kyle Brown, sealed the win for the Channel Islanders.

It could not have been more exciting at Broadwater, where the lead changed hands twice in the minutes before came out on top beating Guildford 31-32.

Fraser McDonald, Darragh Chambers, Ollie Rathbone and Matt Noble were the visitors’ try scorers, with Noble successful with three conversions and two penalties.

Westcombe Parkwent down 23-32 at home to Sidcup, the home side’s tries coming from Joe Bonner (2) and Matt Holmes. James Cameron adding one conversion and a penalty. Dan Thomas, Charlie Hopkins and Joe Thomas(2) were the Sidcup try scorers. Josh Twyford kicking 12 points.

Tring got the better of Towcestrians with a 42-19 win at Cow Lane. Gary Andrews, Jack Flanagan, Lak Michalski, Harry Green and Elliott Byfield were their scorers, with Tom Newton successful with four conversions and three penalties. Tom Grace and Harry Hopewell went in for the visitors, with Ben Roe kicking three first half penalties,

In the final game, West-cliff hammered

Southend Saxons 69-5. There were hat-tricks for Jordan Barton and Sam Brown. Chris Marsh went in for two with Ollie Jones and Josh Stol claiming one each. There was also a penalty try.
