Camborne………40

CAMBORNE demonstrated why they are favourites to win to National One by ending Bournville’s eight-match unbeaten home record with a clinical display at Avery Fields.

A third consecutive hat-trick of tries from hooker Ben Priddey – who has now scored 13 this season – and a composed performance from fly-half Josh Bellamy – on loan from and watched by Under-20s coach – ensured that Camborne were never under threat.

Bournville, whose last home defeat came against Camborne’s neighbours in January, were punished for their inaccuracy at the line-out as Camborne opened up a 26-point lead inside the first 23 minutes.

Although Alex Evans and Stef Thorp scored well-worked tries either side of the half-time interval to trim the deficit, Camborne used their driving maul to devastating effect with Priddey again supplying the finishes.

Camborne’s line speed in defence also disrupted Bournville but their off-loading game in the first quarter also appeared to catch the home side on the hop and wings Alex Ducker and Harry Larkins and open-side flanker Jordan Nicholls capitalised.
