DEAN Wills was Redruth’s hero as his last-minute penalty snatched victory to break Hornets hearts.

Hornets opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Connor Vickery after the centre dived under the posts, with Jamie Elswood adding the extras.

Six minutes later Redruth’s Luke Johnson went over before Elswood’s penalty restored Hornets’ five-point advantage.

Redruth went in front for the first time on the half-hour through Matt Pritchard, with Wills adding the extras.

Back came Hornets through Owen Griffiths in the corner before Jamie Prisk went over just before halftime, and Wills confidently kicked over to give Redruth the lead.

The exciting encounter continued to serve up drama as Josh Shepperd scored one minute into the second half, and Elswood was once again successful to put Hornets back in front.

The lead once again swapped hands as Prisk went over for his second with Wills adding the extras just before the hour. With time running out Elswood kicked over a penalty from 45 yards.

Wills then missed a penalty before the fly-half was presented with a second chance in the 80th minute. This time he was successful, as his kick from 35 yards flew between the posts to seal the win.
