HORNETS deservedly avenged a heavy home defeat to Chester earlier in the season.
Their success was built on their defence and they frustrated Chester’s attack, especially in the first half.
Hornets crept ahead with a penalty after sixminutes, but they struggled to get a foothold throughout the first 40. Despite spending long periods in Hornet’s red zone, inaccuracies in the face of a resilient defence meant all Chester had to show after 30 minutes was a penalty by James Preston.
