Dings' efficiency in the red zone proved the telling factor in this tightest of tussles.
Hornets opened the scoring through an Elswood penalty after 14 minutes, but Dings hit back, with good pressure leading to Soloman Taufa diving in spectacularly at the corner.
A good combination between Tomas Gwilliam and Alexander Bilton set Jacob Perry running hard at the defensive line, his inside ball to Thomas Hargan saw the winger make a searing break.
