AT The Old Showground, fly-half, Benjamin Coen’s late penalty saw Exeter University emerge victorious from a helter-skelter clash.
Under heavy rain, an all-action start by Newport saw them score first, winger, Frederick Bailey searing in, with Connor Adams’ conversion hitting a post.
Exeter University replied instantly, however, Fola Adedeji registering their first try swiftly followed by captain Ronan Kelly’s score, Coen’s two conversions putting them ahead by nine.
