O Redcliffians……..54

………………26

Redcliffians turned on the style as they thrashed beleaguered Hinckley, securing their highest points tally in National League in the process.

Finn Murphy set the tone early for the hosts, showing his pace to score the opening try after just three minutes.

The outstanding Jon Cook, Ed Harvey and Dom Sprague all got themselves across the whitewash before the break – securing Redcliffians a bonus point in the process – with Dale Bowyer’s response for Hinckley offering a rare moment of solace.

To their credit, they were much better after the interval, but Redcliffians’ appetite for points was not going to be diminished.

Donald Farmer got their first after the resumption, crashing over from close quarters, with Sam Everett replying out wide for the visitors.

A penalty try only further emphasised the gulf on the scoreboard, before a glut of tries in the ten minutes – two apiece – brought to a close a breathless tie.

Ben Pointon’s effort, alongside a penalty try, ensured Hinckley would return to the Midlands with a bonus point of their own, though James Halliwell and the increasingly prolific Harvey replied in kind to take Redcliffians past the 50-point barrier.
