Barnstaple's relegation was confirmed as they crashed to defeat without gaining a bonus point at Loughborough Students.
The Students were quick off the mark at Epinal Way with the athletic Tommy Agbongbon dotting down inside two minutes.
A penalty from the restart by Tyler Gordon-Oke got Barnstaple on the board, but their joy was short-lived as Silas Pill crossed the line in the sixth minute for a second Loughborough try.
