An absorbing game at Mortimer Park ended in a home win for Luctonians against an attack-minded Loughborough Students.
Despite spending long periods in the home side’s half and winning numerous penalties, the Students could not penetrate the stingiest defence in the league.
Alex Wainwright opened the scoring for the Students after 16 minutes when he slotted a penalty, but they crumpled when Lucs’ first foray into their 22 ended with tight-head Joe White dotting down.
