In an entertaining game for the hardy fans who braved the cold, Hinckley held on, despite second-half home pressure, to take the win and move above Dings.
Crusaders opened the scoring with a fifthminute penalty via Ciaran Donoghue, which Hinckley quickly countered with a Dale Bowyer try and extras from Joseph Wilson.
Dings hit back, the first try from Lewis Beer and then Tom Knight, whose quickthinking from a penalty saw him scamper over after 16 minutes; Donoghue adding the extras from Knight’s try.
