Windy conditions meant that taking full advantage when it was in your favour was key in securing victory.
With the wind behind their backs, the students made costly errors that allowed Dings to race into an early 12-0 lead with full-back Ciaran Donoghue dotting down and converting his own try.
A strong reaction from the students saw the sides exchange scores before the students utilised the strong breeze and closed the gap to 24-17 at halftime, something Dings would have been happy with given conditions.
