Preston G……………..45 Hull……………………….29
A COMMITTED display from Preston Grasshoppers helped secure victory over Hull.
A quick double from Harry Holden and Jacob Browne, and a Greg Smith penalty, gave Hoppers a 12-0 lead after just 15 minutes.
Hull then started to get into the game, with a try from Keane Naylor out wide. A penalty from Fynlay Hobson followed, before Bureta Faraimo went over, and the conversion put Hull in front.
Smith struck a penalty on half-time, putting Hoppers just one point ahead.
Holden added his second just one minute into the second 40, his 10th of the season.
Owain Williams then displayed a moment of brilliance, with a run over 60 metres for Hoppers’ bonus point.
Ciaran O’Donnell pounced on a loose ball to extend the lead, but the game flipped when Hull were awarded a penalty try.
Rob Willetts and Daz Hill were both shown yellows in the process to take Hoppers to 13 men.
Hoppers ran down the clock well, however, scoring a penalty of their own, but Hull did score through Harrison Astley to grab a bonus point.
Smith’s fourth penalty saw the game out to secure five points for Preston.
