Nat helps Lymm keep up pressure

LEAGUE leaders Lymm continued to flex their muscles at Beechwood, comfortably easing past an Otley side which remained competitive but was never able to get close enough to an outstanding opponent.

With Nathan Bees-ley the inspiration, he game’s outcome was known by half-time, Lymm firing on all cylinders in a dominant opening 40 minutes.

Matt Hand, Rob Makin and Sam Wadsworth all found their way over the white line within the opening half-hour, and even though Otley gained a foothold with a penalty courtesy of Ed Crossland, Nick Rigby wrapped up the try bonus point before the interval.

To their credit, Otley were more punchy after the break, scoring three tries. The impressive Harry Butler, a busy presence, was driven over for a brace of scores and there was one also for Sam Connor, the -half ‘s energy very much working in his favour.

But Lymm, who remain unbeaten and a point in front of Leeds at the summit of the division, always had more gears to go through, and they did.

Rigby helped himself to a second, the excellent Beesley went over twice, and they were joined in the act by Pat Jennings.
