Lymm……………………49
Fylde……………………. 14
LYMM continued their strong start to the season with a third victory in as many matches.
Fylde were made to rue their mistakes as they watched their hosts exploit virtually every error on their way to a dominant win.
Fylde began the game on the front foot but their ambition proved to be their undoing after Lymm full-back Nathan Beesley plucked a loose pass out of the air to race in from 40 metres.
The hosts soon pressed home their advantage and grabbed a second try through Robert Makin from a driving maul, with fly-half Thomas Shard converting both.
Fylde managed to strike back through powerful flanker Michael Walton, who picked a great line to surge through the would-be Lymm tacklers.
Lymm expertly controlled the rest of the half, adding a try from Patrick Jennings and two penalties to take a 27-7 lead into the break.
Despite having the wind at their backs and plenty of possession, Fylde were unable to mount a comeback.
Two quickfire tries, a second for Beesley and one for Isaac Millachip, effectively ensured Lymm’s victory before Nick Rigby and Fylde’s Ben Turner exchanged late tries.
