PRESTON Grasshoppers overcame a sloppy start to pick up a deserved away win to start their campaign at Tynedale.
It was a rocky start for the Hoppers, as Tynedale quickly stormed into a twotry lead through Ben Douglas’ two tries
The away side found themselves 12 points down, but Ed Maher got the opening-day comeback underway.
Maher hit two tries in quick succession, with Tynedale successfully kicking a penalty to hold a rampant Lancashire side at bay.
