LLOYD HAYES led the way as Rotherham saw off Billingham in a thoroughly entertaining opener.
Last season’s leading points-scorer grabbed two of the victors’ eight tries and converted six of them for a personal haul of 22 points.
The expansive, newly promoted visitors ran in three of their own and were unlucky not to collect a consolation league point for their efforts.
