Second-placed Fylde were made to look second best as they lost to mid-table Tynedale.
The visitors were outgunned in the forwards and their line-out was a mess. When they did put together handling moves, they were kept at bay by excellent Tynedale tackling.
The Northumbrians had lost their previous three games, but were always in control, taking the lead after only 75 seconds when good handling sent Alex Dryden in at the corner for an unconverted try.
