Hull Ionians outmuscled their hosts to open their season with a win.
The visitors started strongly and took the lead within three minutes when good hands enabled Sam Wilson to score in the corner.
Hull extended their lead when a drive was well controlled by George Mewburn to cross.
Blaydon responded well and an excellent short burst by Alex Clark fed Will Varley to score near the posts, which was easily converted by John Clarkson.
