Students hold off late Bourns’ rally

LOUGHBOROUGH took the honours in a game in which the wind played its part.
The hosts got off to the perfect starts as Sam Blade broke clear for Charlie Briers to finish off after three minutes.
Bournville quickly fought back with a penalty as they took advantage of the wind behind their backs, before Ryan Apps raced over for the Students’ second try.
Scrums and line-outs became a key part of the game, allowing both teams to advance downfield, but without managing to score to make it 12-3 at the break.
