HULL finished this match looking very much the top-of-the-table side, with Simon Humberstone pulling the strings.
But it took them an hour to break down a stubborn Chester defence, which was eventually overcome by the power of Hull’s pack.
Chester played a game of containment, competing hard in defence and kicking for territory.
For the first 40, Hull seemed surprised, even affronted, by this resistance. They were niggled and showed it.
