THIS match was tight, as the score suggests. It finished with four tries apiece and Chester in front by a single point.
At times the home side seemed about to pull away, but Tynedale showed great resilience.
Tynedale scored an early penalty, but Chester’s wingers replied with a pair of well-taken tries – Max Himbury from a cross kick and Harrison Vare from a loose clearance, picking his way through the Tynedale chase from 45 metres out.
