HULL’S props laid the foundation for victory with some immense scrummaging which resulted in two penalty tries.
Chester put together some good early phases of play and when Hull went offside, they took advantage with a penalty from centre Tom Foden.
Hull responded with a Simon Humberstone penalty but Chester kept up the pressure and drove a maul 30 yards for lock Jimmy Lloyd to be awarded the try, which went unconverted, on 17 minutes.
