WHARFEDALE were overpowered by a determined Sheffield Tigers outfit who were superior in the scrummage, effective in mauls and rucks and speedy in the backs. Wharfedale stuck at it but made handling errors, gave away too many penalties and unusually missed a number of vital tackles.
Playing down the slope, Wharfedale had two chances in the first four minutes but knock-ons near the line meant they went away empty handed. And shortly after, Peter Swatkins scored on the left for Tigers but on 20 minutes an equalising try was scored by Rian Hamilton thanks to Jack Blakeney-Edwar...
