WITH results elsewhere in Dale’s favour this fivepoint victory leaves them in eighth spot.
In the strong wind, this was never going to be pretty, but both sides did try to entertain.
Wharfedale managed the conditions better and scored five tries while keeping the Lions well away from the try line.
Dale opened the scoring with a well drilled catch and drive that ended with Matty Houghton crashing over. Jack Blakeney-Edwards could not convert.
Dale’s second came from a weighted grubber kick by Harry Bullough...
