HOPPERS ended comfortable winners in the miserable conditions, despite South enjoying periods of possession.
Persistent rain and a strong wind made handling difficult.
South’s cause was nothelped by a second half injury to full-back Kyle Hughes. Hoppers’ defence was solid and their scrum had the edge.
The margin could have been greater if individual breaks from the backs had found more support.
