THIS was a tight game in difficult circumstances after the referee had declared the pitch fit to play.
Otley had nearly all of the possession and territory in the first half.
Their scrum had the upper hand.
An early Jack Mackie grubber kick was kicked into touch, but Otley didn’t release after the line-out and the attack broke down.
Otley continued to press and were rewarded after 17 minutes when Chester collapsed the scrum on their ten-metre line and Ben Smith kicked the penalty.
