INDISCIPLINE proved costly for Fylde as they slipped to a narrow defeat at home after Sheffield Tigers fly-half Mark Ireland kicked three late penalties for the visitors.
The game promised to be a battle between two very able backlines, and to a certain extent that was the way it played out.
Fylde scored four tries to Tigers’ one and should have had the game wrapped up after moving into 24-16 lead with just over 15 minutes left, but their penalty count proved their downfall.
