WHARFEDALE were deserved winners in a tight game and made the most of the opportunities as Peterborough Lions were beaten in their first National League outting.
A tight first ten minutes ended when Wharfedale second row George Hedgley scored a try after some sustained pressure. Fly-half Will Edwards converted.
The Lions made uncharacteristic mistakes throughout an error-strewn first 30 minutes and following a knock-on in midfield Wharfedale moved the ball wide and winger Joshua Prell scored on 21 minutes to make it 12-0.
