BARNSTAPLE won this battle at the bottom but they and Wimbledon were relegated from National 2 South after Old Redcliffians’ win over Redruth.
It was a stunning comeback from the home side as they fought from 14-0 down to claim the victory with an inspired secondhalf showing.
Wimbledon took the lead after 12 minutes through a James Doe try which the fly-half converted himself for 7-0. Jacob Murphy missed the chance to reply on 17 minutes with Barnstaple seeing Oliver Mason sent to the sin bin on the halfhour.
