WHARFEDALE crept closer to safety as they downed Macclesfield at the Avenue.
The result keeps Wharfedale nine points clear of Luctonians who must collect ten points from their two games in hand to leapfrog Dale and survive.
Dale had chances to grab the vital bonus point but two yellow cards in their last 20 minutes saw them playing with only 14 men.
They did get a third try during this time through Robert Davidson but missed out on the allimportant fourth.
