CHESTER held off a late fightback from Tynedale to win by a single point and finish the season on a high at Hare Lane.
It took only four minutes for winger Matthew Van Sertima to open the scoring for the home side. Tynedale responded three minutes later as Ben Bell broke through to score under the posts. Chester increased the pressure on the visitors and it paid off as a catch and powerful drive from Alick Croft resulted in a try.
