THREE yellow cards could not stop Leicester Lions triumphing in a tight, attritional affair against Blaydon.
It was the home side who had the better start as Lions enjoyed most of the territory, but unforced errors kept the match scoreless.
But Oliver Taylor crossed after a dominant maul to break the deadlock after 14 minutes.
A yellow card for Devon Constant gave the away side a numerical advantage and Matthew Thompson spotted a gap in the home defence to dive over after a maul.
