A DEFENSIVEbattle was just edged by Wharfedale as they secured a narrow victory over Chester.
The visitors set up the first try with a five-metre lineout. A clinical catch and drive was rewarded with an unconverted try by Alick Croft.
Wharfedale responded quickly, winning turn over ball in midfield and then Charlie Graham set off on a brilliant 37-metre run breaking tackles and using his speed to reach the line.
Tom Barrett landed the conversion to put Dale in front.
Chester then crossed with another catch and drive with Croft again the scorer. James Preston was successful...
