A HIGH-scoring game was expected when second-placed Tynedale entertained Sale in third spot, but points were at a premium in an absorbing encounter which Tynedale just edged to maintain their 100 per cent winning record.
Tynedale did not concede a single penalty in the opening period while Sale twice lost promising positions through back chat to the referee. Despite impressive performances from wingers Chris Mayor and Anthony Bingham, Sale could not find a way through the solid Tynedale defence.
