SHEFFIELD were denied a win on their first taste of National Two rugby as Steve Depledge pulled a penalty attempt just wide at the death to leave Luctonians one-point victors in a thrilling encounter.
It was cruel on the home side, who had flown out of the blocks with three tries in 15 minutes, but Lucs were able to fight their way back to give Louis Silver the chance to win it late on with a penalty.
Fergus Wood had opened the scoring just three minutes in for the home side, only for Lawrence Breese to respond immediately for Luctonians.
