Harrogate denied by Avent’s late try

HARROGATE were condemned to relegation in the cruellest way as they were denied a heroic, if ultimately academic, win in the dying seconds.
Unbeknown to them, a win would not have been enough to keep them up as Sheffield Tigers saw off Luctonians.
But the Yorkshire side kept their end of the bargain for 78 minutes only to have victory snatched from them by a late Ben Avent try.
Harrogate came out fighting with Samuel Fox getting them off the mark with a penalty, before they took control with two tries in two minutes.
